These saltwater pearls are cultivated primarily in Japan and China. The typical size range is from 6mm to 7mm but you might see them as small as 2mm or as large as 10mm. Most Akoya pearls have a white to cream body colour. Other natural colours including yellow, grey, and blue, are possible.
